Christmas & New Year in Perranporth

Christmas and New Year in Perranporth is full of festive cheer! The Chistmas light switch on is towards the end of November and throughout December, lots of the pubs have singing groups singing Christmas carols and many other evenings where everyone is joining in. The Tywarnhayle Inn has a Christmas carol evening where everyone is singing around the Christmas tree in the beer garden with a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie! If you’re feeling really brave, on Boxing Day morning, the beach is busy with those daring to go for a swim – no wetsuits allowed!!

Truro is about 20 minutes drive away and from late November, right up iuntil Christmas, there are the Truro Christmas Markets. Here you will find everything from arts and crafts, to festive treats, and, of course, plenty of mulled wine! The Hall For Cornwall has a pantomime each year, running from the beginning of December to the start of January. It’s well worth going if you can get tickets. There is lots of local talent on stage including regular appearances from Kernow King. Hilarious, chaotic and great fun for all ages!

Perranporth is in a great location in Cornwall as you are never more than an hour drive away from other parts of the county. Many of Cornwall’s attractions are open all year round, only during the winter there are less crowds and often no queues at all! There are plenty of National Trust houses and gardens to visit, like Lanhydrock, Trelissick and Trengwainton. Places like Trebah, Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan are all great days out iover the festive season. Many not just having Christmas lights up, but activities to keep the whole family entertained like making Chritmas decorations, toasting marshmellows, feeding raindeer, and if you’re lucky, meeting the Big Man himself!
