On 26th November 2020 the government announced the new rules under the 3 tier system which will take affect from Wednesday 2nd December 2020. We are in tier 1 in Cornwall so although our accommodation is allowed to open, guests occupying our properties must adhere to the rules in their home tier. If you live in an area in tier 3 you will need to move your booking to a later date as only essential travel is permitted outside of your area. If you live in an area in tier 2, your booking can go ahead but you will need to adhere to tier 2 rules so on top of the rule of 5, guests staying in one of our properties must all be from the same household or support bubble. For full details of the rules for each tier, please see the official government website here.
The government has also announced that restrictions will be relaxed over the festive period from 23rd to 27th December 2020. During this period, a ‘Christmas bubble’ of up to 3 households can be formed. You can read full details of this on the official government website here.
All customers with bookings affected by the latest ‘rule of 6’ government announcement about social gatherings in England have the option to rearrange to new dates in 2020 or 2021, with no amendment fee.
This currently applies to bookings of seven or more guests from different households or not in the same bubble who are travelling to properties in England.
If you live in an area that has been locally locked down, you must amend your booking.
If you start experiencing symptoms of COVID 19 during your stay, you must get tested. If the test comes back positive and you arrived by private car and you can safely drive home, you should go home immediately. If you stay in your accommodation, all guests staying with you must self isolate there for 14 days. You will be liable for the cost of the extension of your stay whilst self isolating.
Clearly, we have made some significant changes to make opening again safe for our staff, our guests and our local community.
Our cleaners will be provided with PPE and 80%, hospital grade hand sanitiser. We will also be using a new disinfectant cleaning product which again is hospital grade.
Our check in time is 16:00 but as many of our regular customers will know, we get many of you settled in your accommodation much earlier than this. This year, we ask you to be patient when it comes to collecting your keys. There will be a lot fewer properties ready significantly before 16:00 as we need to ensure that when you do enter your accommodation, it is virus free.
We appreciate that many of you will be travelling through the night or setting off very early in the morning to avoid heavy traffic. Feel free to let us know that you are here and the best phone number to contact you on. We will call you as soon as your accommodation is ready with a time to collect your keys.
Although our accommodation is going to open, like everywhere, Perranporth is far from ‘back to normal’. It would be worth considering being prepared this year and bringing as many groceries as you can with you as there are still likely to be queuing systems in place in our shops. Please don’t arrive with chilled or frozen items with you, we will not be able to let you store them in your accommodation before we have confirmed it is ready. Consider booking an on-line grocery delivery. Bring with you plenty of hand soap, some hand sanitiser, disinfectant spray and/or wipes. This will help keep your accommodation virus free throughout your stay keeping you and your family safe.
We are delighted to be able to welcome you back to Perranporth but we ask that you respect our community and continue to follow government guidelines during your stay and when visiting our local businesses. There are many vulnerable members that we do not want to make feel unsafe or threatened.
